Nelle May Pierce is a professional illustrator and story maker based in Melbourne, Australia.
Working in a variety of mediums and styles, Nelle focusses on:
Book and story illustration
Live illustration and graphic recording for events
Custom hand lettering and calligraphy
As a former lawyer and civil servant, Nelle has always loved words and writing. But above all, she treasures the power of imagination, daydreaming and escapism and scribbles away in the cracks of a busy life to create stories, poems and songs. Her influences are classic magical realism, adventures, mysteries and science fiction stories - anything with a rich, engrossing world, cultural depth and packed with wonderful detail and complexity. Nelle has a number of book projects for kids currently brewing, including one featuring the loveable giant pictured here, which she hopes to finish some time before the polar caps melt and there is nobody left to read it.

Our House - Visual and Active Consulting written by Melbourne consultant, author and academic Antony Williams was published in 2018 by Routledge in the UK. A revised edition is expected in late 2019 with an updated design inside and out. This book cleverly uses the metaphor of a house, offering business consultants a unique room-by-room model to engage with their clients in very practical ways to solve problems. Nelle provided over 40 geometric style vector illustrations and diagrams to provide both essential guidance and aesthetic relief.
