Logos, Branding and associated design work
Sometimes I create logos and design pretty banners and flags and things for web/print. Its not the focus of my work currently but do quite enjoy conjuring them up. Creating brand identities is a bit like fictional world building, and if you think about it, requires the same amount of storytelling and imagination to bring it to life.
There are strange tensions between working as a commercial artist and retaining your integrity/sanity that I think most creative people have to negotiate for themselves. Perhaps they never feel they get the balance quite right? But thats life - and you do have to eat I suppose. I find most higher end advertising and corporate sales pretty dull/yuk so most of my work these is for community organisations and other creative people doing good things.
As you can see below, I’ve rebranded my kids school and created plenty of spunky colourful splashes for events in my region. It’s nice seeing things you make displayed where you live, and brightning up the community and culture around you.

Branding + Logos
If your logo or brand needs a refresh or you’re starting a new business, event or project, it is so powerful to have a logo mark and a set of colours and other visual parameters that help capture what you are doing and communicate it to the world. Branding helps people take you more seriously, gives your presence a cohesive identity, and makes your work more recognisable. I love learning all about what people do, and the challenge of capturing that idea in a single golden nugget that is easy to share. I use a lot of illustration and hand lettering in my designs which gives them a human-made aesthetic - very effective in communicating authenticity in today’s mass digital age.

Print + Promotions
Its quite a treat creating promotional banners, flags, large scale stickers and murals because not only does it grab peoples attention, but I treat each as an opportunity to delight anyone who sees it and truly brighten the world. I have produced a range of beautiful decorative, advertising and promotional flags and banners for all sorts of events. Most of my work is decorative in some way, incorporating custom illustrated elements, which I create from scratch. I rarely use clipart, so everything I create is brimming with perfect palettes, eye-catching patterns and imagery you can guarantee is not used by anyone else in the world.
